Meaning

"〜しただけのことだ" is used to indicate that there was no special intention, and it was simply done as a matter of course.

Examples

1. 人として正しいことをしたまでだ。
   I just did what is right as a human being.

2. お世辞じゃないよ。本当のことを言ったまでだよ。
   It’s not flattery. I just said the truth.

3. 当然のことをしたまでなので、お礼などは要りません。
