Meaning
〜にわたって/にわたり expresses that something continues uninterruptedly across a certain time period, duration, or spatial range. It indicates that something spreads or extends throughout a particular scope. This pattern is often used with words like 「広い」(wide), 「長い」(long), or 「大きい」(large), and commonly paired with 「あらゆる」(every), 「すべての」(all), or 「ほとんど」(most). Use にわたって or にわたり in the middle of sentences, while にわたる can appear at the sentence end.
