Meaning
Humble language (謙譲語) is used to express your own actions, possessions, and status in a modest way to show respect to others. There are two main patterns: special humble verbs that replace common verbs entirely, and the o/go + verb (masu form) + shimasu pattern for regular verbs. This pattern reverses the relationship of keigo by humbling the speaker rather than elevating the listener.
