Adjective Nominalization with 「さ」: Turning Feelings into Things

高い becomes 高さ, 優しい becomes 優しさ -- add さ and adjectives transform from describing states into measurable, comparable, remarkable nouns.

Start with a question:

A. い   B. く   C. さ   D. み

The answer is C. さ. "I was amazed at that bag's lightness" -- 軽 turns the adjective "light" into the noun "lightness."
